Lisa's Travel Tips and A Smoothie On The Go!

When I travel, I always find it so hard to stay in my routine keeping with my healthy habits. In the past I have allowed myself to completely indulge and give myself permission to be in that moment. However, over the years, I have found a way to start my morning that sets me on a healthy path for the rest of the day. This smoothie provides all the essential protein, omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants and phytonutrients for giving me a surge of energy that lasts all day. It will balance your blood sugar as an added bonus with the addition of cinnamon and will help you maintain a healthy blood sugar level throughout the day.

Here is the link to my smoothie recipe. We travel quite a bit and I was really missing that routine while on vacation. I obviously can't bring my blender with me wherever I go, so instead I bring my daily dry ingredients (as pictured here in a snack baggie) with me. At first, I was reluctant to ask my server to have my ingredients blended in their basic smoothie, but I found that everyone I had asked met my request with out resistance.

I realized that I truly needed to start my day this way. This routine keeps me being balanced and helps me make better choices throughout my day. So the next time you are traveling, order your smoothie and ask your server to blend your pre-made packet of spices and powders to their smoothie. You can use my recipe here or create your own even without packing your blender!!
